Today is a big day in the United States and celebrations take place everywhere. It’s the fourth of July and that can only mean fireworks! Naturally, I had to feature a block that looks like it would light up the sky!
This quilt block is designed for an experienced quilter as there are many pieces in the block. However, none of the patches are difficult to make — half square triangles, flying geese and square in a square units. So with care in sewing your quarter inch seam allowances, a quilter of any skill level would be able to make this block. Are you up for the challenge?
I thought that I would play around with the colour placement of the fabrics and used three variations in the sample quilt illustrated below.
